International superstar Beyoncé channels Marilyn Monroe for the newest issue of Out magazine’s Power issue. Having just wrapped up her worldwide, the multi-talented wife and mother gets candid on sexuality, her music and more. Beyonce said she wants her music to have an impact. She posed topless for the front cover of Out magazine’s Power issue in jewellery and blow-dried hair, with her hands protecting her modesty.

Talking about her self-titled album, she said: “While I am definitely conscious of all the different types of people who listen to my music, I really set out to make the most personal, honest, and best album I could make. I needed to free myself from the pressures and expectations of what I thought I should say or be, and just speak from the heart.”

Beyonce, who holidayed in the Dominican Republic with husband Jay Z for their sixth wedding anniversary, wants women to “own their sexuality”. “Being that I am a woman in a male-dominated society, the feminist mentality rang true to me and became a way to personalize that struggle,” she continued.

“But what I’m really referring to, and hoping for, is human rights and equality, not just that between a woman and a man. So I’m very happy if my words can ever inspire or empower someone who considers themselves an oppressed minority… We are all the same and we all want the same things: the right to be happy, to be just who we want to be and to love who we want to love.”

Recording Bass Guitar

Recording bass guitar is very similar to capturing the sound of the electric guitar. Along with the drums, the bass forms the backbone of most songs and productions, so getting your bass sound right is a vital part of producing good music. The bass guitar can give your music productions a solid low-end foundation. Combined with the kick drum, when it’s used the bass guitar creates most of a song’s low-frequency content.

Bass amps and cabinets will have better low-end response compared to normal guitar amps, to cope with the low notes of the bass guitar and to give the instrument it’s punch. If you’re looking for an amp that you can crank up and record at high volume, a cheap ampeg bass guitar from guitar center are recommended.

Recording bass guitar can be easy when you follow a few simple guidelines. Whether recording directly, through an amp, or a combination of the two, capturing a great bass sound can give you a truly solid foundation for you to build your music and your productions on.

The New Trends of Digital Printing

When speaking of the new trends and new market shifts within the printing industry, the digital printing is in. Digital printing is the process of moving large amounts of information through the internet and then being able to print this information at a desired location with advanced technologies like a digital press. A good example of this would be how the publishing industry is able to send information directly to printers and distributors who can then use large digital presses to print the material.

Digital presses have the ability to print large format based copy for the advertising industry and other promotional needs. What was once performed by traditional, offset lithography, is now performed by technologically advanced machines capable of churning out over a hundred pages a minute. So if you are in the business of producing a massive quantity of pages for books, brochures, envelope printing and other needs, you may be wondering about the benefits of a digital press or digital printing in general.

Maximize The Benefit To Your Band By Using These Tips For Every Gig

It’s time for that gig, the one you booked months ago. The day is here and you are ready to rock. Don’t make the mistake of not making the most out of this big gig. You don’t want to just focus on playing a good show, which is of course the most important thing at the end of the day.But it’s not that important if people aren’t there or if people don’t have a way of staying in touch with you after. So if you really want to maximize the benefit to your band for this big gig, there is a lot of preparation you need to do to make sure you don’t waste the opportunity.

1. Promotion and more Promotion

photo AvonRents-10-1_zps4c8a1e15.jpgA lot of bands these days waste gigs by not properly promoting. A lot will now just make a Facebook event page and then invite all their friends and be done with it. Unfortunately, many people ignore Facebook invites, or will get the invitation too far in advance and won’t think to make a note of the date. You have to make the event page, but you also have to contact all local media. You still also have to put fliers up around town. It’s the most important thing and people and bands are starting to let that simple and cheap way to promote fall by the wayside.

2. Arrive as a Band

photo AvonRents-10-2_zps65a219cb.jpgSo you’re a local band not on tour, and you all are going to drive to the gig separately. That’s no way to make a cool impression. You’ll look like a bunch of hacks who are just doing music as a hobby while working at the local record shop. Don’t do that. Image is important. Go to a place like www.avonrents.com and rent yourself a bad ol’ van, and show up to the gig in style, like you mean it. That site, http://www.avonrents.com, is cheap and good, and will get you that van that you’ve always wanted. Nothing beats rolling up to the club and unloading your band and gear as one. Shows you mean business and people will notice. Oh, the band is here, will say the ladies.

3. Allow the new Fans to Find You

photo AvonRents-10-3_zps22e64118.jpgYou need to able to be found online after the gig. If someone sees your show, loves it, but has no idea how to find you, you will miss out on attaining these fans. One great move is to make sure your band’s name is on the bass drum – not only is it cool at the time, but people are always taking photos of the band and uploading them and when you see the name in the picture it’ll be easy to remember who you saw. This is a small move that is super easy to do – people will see the photo and be easily able to tell who is in the picture, and friends who weren’t even there can find you because your band’s name is right there, for all eyes to see.

Using Digital Audio Consoles

Perhaps the main advantage of going digital is that you can keep your signal path totally in the digital domain all the way to the computer. Is this True? Well yes. That is, if most of your studio is digital. If you like to use global inserts on the mix bus, that is, route the master out through a compressor, finalizer and equalizer, you better make sure it’s digital too, or you will be doing extra conversions. Read up on the quality of analog to digital converters, this is a picky point with the pros. Also double check on the number of analog inputs you get.

Digital audio consoles such as reason 7 upgrade do offer major advantages over analog and their eventual dominance in the field is assured. No matter what, let’s make sure that our desire for new toys doesn’t cause us to miss the point. A sound mixer’s job is to creatively blend the music and vocals and to listen rather than getting bogged down in the operational details of a console, be it analog or digital.

Stage Lighting Design

Whatever the scale of a production, an amateur or professional, lighting like other design processes is based on a sequence of logical decisions plus a good measure of creative inspiration. You can find an audio, lighting and staging production company nowadays that provides equipment and services for concerts, conventions, special events, theatre and trade shows. They design, engineer and provide all of the state-of-the-art equipment to produce a truly unforgettable show.

If you haven’t noticed stage lighting before, you may have taken the emotion it brings for granted. But once you notice it, you’ll noticed it’s a beautiful and often subtle and nuanced entrance into the world of stagecraft and design.

Today’s stage lighting tools are a heady combination of technology and creativity, and truly allow designers to let their imaginations take flight. Requiring their own vocabulary of sorts, the tools of today’s lighting designers are high-tech marvels that are a far cry from the rudimentary candles and torches of old, but all accomplish the same goal, that of beautiful illumination for the action onstage. In the performing arts, the light such as cool slimpar tri 12 irc at guitar center is a part of the performance, and the work of the lightboard operator can often feel very much like an interactive dance of sorts.

The Chic Lady Bassist

photo 941916_643467645670660_1753136617_n_zps32a6bf82.jpgWho says women can’t play the base guitar? Just take a look at my gorgeous friend Siobel who enjoys playing on her base guitar. As a musician myself, its quite rare to find women who has the passion in playing this kind of music instrument. I’m glad my friend did!

Being taken seriously as a rock musician when you’re a chick is tough work. According to my friend, if you like to learn how to play the base, there is never such a thing as too much practice when it comes to an instrument. She practice with her band two days a week for two hours, and an hour on non-band days. She also added that being in a band is selling an image as well as a sound. Girls in country bands always look really hot.

Being a girl is tough enough, but trying to be a girl in a man’s world like music, gadgets, sports, computers etc is even harder. Men by all means have an advantage when playing music since they’re typically stronger and have bigger hands, which are incredibly helpful attributes when playing an instrument. However, if you have the guts and you love to play this instrument, why not try the danelectro bass guitars at musicians friend and see for yourself that you can play it too!

Honoring Cory Monteith’s Character on GLEE

Glee plans to honor the late character of Finn Hudson starred by Cory Monteith in the show’s upcoming 100th episode. This 100th episode will also feature returning original cast members Heather Morris, Harry Shum Jr., and Amber Riley, as well as returning guest stars Kristin Chenoweth and Gwyneth Paltrow. The Season 6 will be the final season, as TV Line reported back in October. Creator Ryan Murphy explained that the series finale will pay tribute to the late Monteith.

Glee star Cory Monteith won the hearts of many as Finn Hudson, a soulful jock turned singer. Unfortunately, his too-soon death at the age of 31 of a drug and alcohol overdose broke many of those hearts.

In their happier times, Monteith’s Glee star Lea Michele once described her co-star and boyfriend as “a really hot, 6’3″ Canadian,” and we’d add his other crushworthy quality because of his incredible singing voice. As well, Monteith was known off camera as a kind, sweet man who made all feel at home.

As well as his work on Glee, Monteith co-hosted the Teen Choice Awards in 2010 and has received several nominations from the Teen Choice Awards, finally winning in 2011 for “Choice TV: Actor Comedy.” He also scored nominations from the People’s Choice Awards and Do Something Awards.

When Shooting for Music Videos

A music video, just like a drama, should be planned, even scripted, before you shoot. You should study music videos and performances featuring music of the same genre and note techniques that impresses you. Try to figure out how and why the directors took the shots and made the cuts that they did. Every song and dance that has appeared on film or video has had someone making decisions about what goes where. And, with a little thought and creativity using Wireless Game Camera, you can usually figure out why that particular image was shot for that bar of music.

If you are shooting a professional performer, use a recorded version of the song being performed as the sound track for the video. Make sure you get the best sound you possibly can, because you won’t be able to improve it later.

To get better sound, you can plug an external mike into your camcorder. One of the best ways to get great sound from a live performance is to get a feed from the house sound system, though you may need a few adapters and a long cable. Remember, it is important to ask the sound technician for a mic level feed.

Remember to be creative when you’re shooting. Take advantage of things that are usually considered mistakes. A lens flare isn’t always a bad thing, nor are reflections, back lit scenes or the talent laughing between takes. Finally, have fun. You’ll be amazed at what a little fun will do for your music video.
