We just had a youth jam last week which was held at our church and one of our special guests are the band who called themselves as the Patatas Band. Their main vocalist named as Tingbirds was actually one of the famous beatboxer here in the city of Cagayan de Oro.  I was surprised how he amazingly performed different vocal imitations.

Beatboxing is actually a form of vocal percussion which primarily involves the art of producing drum beats, rhythm, and musical sounds using one’s mouth, lips, tongue, and voice. It also involves singing, vocal imitation of turntablism, and the simulation of horns, strings, and other musical instruments.

Johnrey Yap who is  known as Tingbirds is purely a gifted vocal percussionist. He has been practicing beatboxing for almost 4 years and he is performing live on stage in several private and public events here in CDO.
