Our Special Mother’s Day Music Video

Hubby and I recorded a music video as our tribute to our dear Mom Juvy. My hubby played the keyboard while I sang a Tagalog song dedicated for Mothers entitled “IINGATAN KA”. It is a beautiful song from Carol Banawa who is one of the best OPM singers in our country. The message of the song expresses our love and care for our mom. We just recorded this video once and we only practiced twice that’s why its not that perfect in tune and melody but we played and sang it from the heart.  :)

I’m so glad that my mom liked our video and she was touched by the message of the song. Thanks so much Mamcy! You know how much we love you and we truly appreciate all the things that you have done to us. Happy Mother’s Day to you and to all the beautiful Mom’s out there!

Vocal Preparation

I have a  busy lifestyle and evidently, I have no time to even take into consideration in practicing for a vocal preparation. But I was advised that I should do it every time I perform in front of the stage. If you sing on a regular basis like me, your vocal chords and throat muscle groups are consistently being stretched and exercised. And like every muscle there are keys to holding your throat and vocal chords in good shape.

Just remember not to strain your voice. Don’t abuse it by throwing your voice into compromising conditions without the correct vocal preparation. I also suppose it’s actually essential that you just watch your food consumption prior to singing. Personally I don’t sing when my stomach is full.This implies if I am leading worship on a Sunday morning, I fast till after the service.

Lastly it’s actually essential to lubricate your voice whereas singing. But here’s a big important key.Don’t drink candy drinks, don’t drink espresso and don’t drink cold. One of the best factor is water at room temperature or slightly warm.

Jessica Sanchez is the hot and trending topic today when she was eliminated by the nationwide vote in “American Idol” but surprisingly, she was saved by the judges. American Idol production is indeed making big wave and they are extremely favorable to Jessica Sanchez.

Even Randy said, she’s one of the best singers in America. I totally agree! I myself loves Jessica’s soulful voice and my vote is on her too. Jessica deserves to be save cause she’s just too amazing to just leave! Go Jessica!

Having our Own Music Studio at Home

Many music enthusiasts like us would like to set up our  own music recording studio. We want to do it for our own convenience in order to monitor our own practices. We can also create our own music composition and this usually takes time because we need to practice so we can present our own music with great beats and wonderful lyrics.  Thus, a music studio or have our very own home recording studio is what we needed.

If only we have the budget then we could  easily get most of the equipments on discounts. We need this instruments and equipments for a music studio such as microphone, keyboard, Mixing Console, Studio Monitors, Multi track Recorder, Digital Audio workstation, Recording Effects, Audio Interface, Computer, Software and of course a room.  It is best to have our own small space so we can concentrate in creating our own music and start recording in the comfort of our home.

Crowd Interaction during Stage Performance

Have you ever tried performing live on stage? Are you having a stage fright or are you confident in facing the crowd? Well, based on my own experience I still feel that stage fright specially when I saw the crowd with lots of people around.

All eyes are on me but I’m trying my best not just to perform perfectly on stage but I also want to get the crowd involved were I create a crowd atmosphere lets say put your hands in the air or encourage them to sing along, drop the song on a punch line and have them say it. I also encourage the crowd to do a dance or whatever.

The bottom line there is to get the crowd into the whole performance as it will improve the general vibe of the performance by helping the audience feel like they are a part of the show.Being energetic and positive will also show the audience that you’re having fun so if you’re having fun on stage, the audience will sense it and feed off your excitement.

Singing with a Vocal Harmony

I just love listening to a song with a nice harmony in it.  I find melodies catchy but the harmony can make it even more beautiful. I also love to sing in harmony because I can combine melodic notes with different melodic notes from another to create a rich pitch blend.

Although I’m not that skilled enough in singing with a  second voice but I’m trying my best to know how I could adjust my tone. I am the main vocal so I usually sing the normal tune of the song and the back up singers will do the harmony.

A typical harmony is done with a main melody while one or more others sing either different melodies or a set of notes centered around the main melody. You can find your note and begin your part, while the other person finds his starting note.

You may need to work on just your own melody for a while before you try harmony. Many people struggle to sing at the same time as someone else, while singing different notes than the other person. So knowing your own part really well is very helpful when you are learning how to sing harmony.

Learn to Play Keyboard Online

Aside from singing, I love playing keyboard. My hubby used to teach me some basic keys and notes on the songs that we used to sing at the church. Although it has been awhile that I haven’t played the keyboard because some of the keys from our church keyboard are not functioning anymore aside from the fact that it has been ruined from the flood caused by Typhoon Sendong that also hit our church. Thanked God somebody donated a new keyboard so I have now the chance to play keyboard again.

Good thing learning how to play keyboard is now easier with lessons available online. So, if you’re like me who wanted to play an instrument, playing the keyboard is very fulfilling. With all the extra settings on keyboards, it’s easy to sound talented with a small amount of learning. If you’ve ever played a bit of piano, you’ll have a huge head start on learning to play keyboard.Thanks to internet because we have a chance to learn all the basic and advanced techniques of learning to play keyboard online.

I do believe that practice makes perfect so if you’re determined to learn many songs and techniques, practice at least a few times a week, daily is even better. The more often you practice, the faster you will learn, right?

We Will Always Love You Whitney!

The world has lost one of the greatest vocal artist of all time as Pop legend Whitney Houston died Saturday at the age of 48. Houston, whose hits include “I will Always Love You,” sold over 170 million records before descending into a very public battle with substance abuse which took a toll on her health and career.

She is already gone but she will never be forgotten. May time and memories of her beautiful smiles, her classy performances, her extraordinary voice, her poise, wipe tears away and sorrow to each and everyone.

This song I LOOK TO YOU is definitely her most meaningful song and the one that I choose to remember her by. I believe Jesus heard the cry of her heart and I know she is with Him now. This song is a testimony to her faith and trust in God and I believed that their was some prophetic message in it. I am so glad that she realized that when nothing else would work, she could look to heaven. We will always love you Whitney!
